“I’m here on stage to apologize to everyone. Everything you saw at
today’s showcase is actually fake. Our friends who were on stage today
are the ones who failed to get into the real showcase. Because they
didn’t want to tell their parents, we prepared this fake showcase.
Parents always ask me questions like ‘Can my child be a superstar? Can
he continue on this road? Does he have the talent? My child doesn’t know
how to fly. Will he fall off the cliff?’ So will they get hurt?
Everyone will definitely be afraid. Actually, whether or not they have
that ability, I don’t know the answer either. But there is one thing
that I’m sure about. These children, all of them, want to soar higher
than all the other students here. They love this stage more than anybody
else. They love to stand on this stage more than anybody else. They
used scissors to cut confetti just for this fake showcase. They spent
several days staying up past midnight because they long for the stage so
much. Because they like this stage too much, because this dream is so
beautiful. Therefore, they believe that realizing this dream would be a
wonderful experience. But if we tell these kids that they will be hurt
or cannot try, isn’t that too much? Showing passion for something…I
believe that is also a talent. Today I have clearly seen it. Therefore I
believe in their talent. I want to soar with them like the eagles.
Although I don’t know how wide their wings will become, I still want
them to try. Therefore, I will do my best to make this process an
enjoyable experience. Certainly they could use a safety net. If they are
to fall, at least we can help them get back on their feet. This is what
I call family.”
